The Next American Idol By Jim Odom Fans of hometown favorite Jermaine Purifory are keeping their fingers crossed. They are hoping that he could be the next American Idol. Jermaine auditioned in Orlando, Florida at the tryout there. Randy Jackson commented that he was the best of all the voices he had heard at any of this season's auditions. One of the reasons that I am excited to hear Jermaine won this round is that I feel like I know Jermaine. His dad used to work at one of our galleries in Chattanooga. Jermaine's dad is the one in the orange shirt that passes out when he hears the news that his son is going to Hollywood.
