Mark Keathley new release
By Jim Odom
Mark Keathley's release for February is Quiet Encounter. Mark visited the Smoky Mountain National Park in the Fall of 2009. While in the Park, Mark took canvas and oil paints in tow along with his trusted camera. Much of what Mark paints involve his encounters with nature. The link below will show the finished project. A mountain stream attracts a doe and a buck to taste the cool clear water. Mark just happens upon the scene in time to capture it for all to see. Sometimes as you travel through the beautiful mountains in Eastern Tennessee, you will come across vistas that beg to be photographed and shared. I have always wanted to share some of my favorite scenes with family and friends. Unfortunately, I have no artistic talent. Even photographs that I have taken do not look the same as what I saw in my mind's eye. A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Keathley. I owned retail art galleries and he was a self-published artist at the time (locations can be found at http://www.artofthesouth.com). We agreed to a business relationship that allowed me to publish his original art and sell limited edition prints of it on our retail locations. In addition, we started a wholesale publishing division of our company known as Infinity Fine Art. The publishing division sells Mark's art to galleries in several states across the US. Part of our business relationship has allowed me to contribute ideas for paintings Mark is working on. Make no mistake, Mark has the inspiration and the genius to choose just the right subject matter that is so appealing to his many collectors and fans. The small part I play, however, gives me just a small bit of satisfaction and a feeling that I have been a part of the creation. Quiet Encounter is sure to be a big hit among previous collectors as well as those who have not yet discovered his work. |
